Shopper News publishes editions for Halls/Fountain City, Powell/Norwood, Bearden, Farragut, Karns/Hardin Valley, Union County, North/East and South Knoxville, Tennessee.
Shopper-News, founded in the mid-‘60s by Charles and Martha Roberts, was acquired by Sandra Clark in 1971. The paper was acquired by E.W. Scripps in 2005.
Shopper-News has unique sales, editorial and graphics teams, managed by publisher Sandra Clark. Accounting, printing and distribution are handled by the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Shoppers are delivered to homes in Knox County by contractors of the News Sentinel, managed by Tim Price. Shopper-News neither hires nor manages these contractors.
The same contractor delivers Shoppers to KNS subscribers and non-subscribers within his/her route.
Shoppers are inserted into the Wednesday papers for KNS subscribers. Carriers have from Wednesday until Thursday to deliver Shoppers to non-subscribers. For non-subscribers, the Shopper-News is the wrapper for printed ads, allowing KNS and Shopper-News to offer Total Market Coverage for preprints.
